Academic
Duncombe offers a diverse curriculum with lots of practical activities and a variety of outings and events. Our educational programme is designed to educate the whole child, beginning at 2 years old, when children enter Treetops, our Early Years department, and developing through to senior school entry at age 11.
Duncombe's SATs results are always outstanding: Over 65% of our leavers achieve Level 5 in English, Maths and Science, well above national standards. Our children progress to a range of senior schools at the end of Year 6 (age 11) and Duncombe has an exceptional record of scholarships to independent schools.
Our curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including English, Maths, Science, ICT, Humanities, Religious Education, Music, Art and Design Technology, Sport and Drama. French is introduced in Year 3. Subjects are taught in a practical manner relative to the age and ability of the children. We have specialist teaching staff in many areas.
Duncombe's academic facilities include: an extensive library; two ICT suites; a networked PC in each class room; interactive whiteboards; well-equipped science room; art studio and dedicated music room.
