Bookworms get creative

Duncombe pupils visited Paradise Wildlife Park recently to participate in a creative writing workshop with children's author Gareth P Jones. Gareth gave the children an insight into his world of dragon detectives, ninja meerkats and talking toadstools by playing and singing his own musical compositions and offered advice and tips to the aspiring writers.

The pupils' stories from the workshop have been entered into a competition sponsored by the Rotary Club of Hoddesdon who organised the event in conjunction with local independent bookshop Books@Hoddesdon.
