Five star award for Duncombe catering team

Many congratulations to Duncombe catering manager, Mrs Mary Patterson and her team on being awarded the maximum 5 star rating ('excellent') following the recent surprise inspection by East Herts Council's environmental health officers.

Duncombe's catering is all undertaken 'in-house', rather than being contacted out, and Mrs Patterson is delighted that the hard work and high standards of her eight-strong team have been recognised officially.

Duncombe maintains a healthy eating policy with all the meals prepared freshly on the school premises. Mrs Patterson devises the menus with the preferences of younger palates in mind whilst also managing to appeal to the more mature tastes of the staff! Offerings range from traditional roasts to curries accompanied by samosas and naan bread, and from fresh fruit salad to apricot crumble and custard, with the occasional doughnut or chocolate brownie treat! Vegetarian options and a salad bar are always available and special diets are happily catered for too.
