Haileybury Science Challenge

Four Year 6 pupils represented Duncombe at the recent Haileybury Science Challenge, competing against 19 other prep and primary schools. The theme for the day was Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and after identifying ten different potions, designing and constructing a raft to float as much heavy cargo as possible and analysing a variety of types of crisp to discover their energy content, the Duncombe pupils were delighted to be awarded third place. 'It was a great day and we enjoyed ourselves immensely (including the excellent lunch)', they reported.
