Larry the Guide Dog puppy teaches Year 1 about senses

Larry the Guide Dog puppy popped into school yesterday to teach Year 1 about senses, and his role as a seeing dog for blind people. Ex-Duncombe pupil Sarah Robson (nee Lee) who works as a volunteer Guide Dog trainer, taking in puppies and training them to eventually become companions for blind people, and spoke to the children about the important work and training that Larry and the other guide dog puppies go through. Larry very calmly sat beside Sarah while she talked to the children, and especially liked having his picture taken – just look at those huge eyes!
It’s visits like these that allow us to really enrich our curriculum with real life examples, and we are hugely grateful to Sarah for bringing Larry in to visit the children.
