Financial Capability Week

8th - 12th June 2020

Financial Capability Week

From Monday 8th – Friday 12th June, we will be hosting our Financial Capability Week, which involves the children taking part in tasks such as questioning the value of money and the importance of saving and spending.

Traditionally this enrichment programme would be held and hosted in school, but as some of our children continue to learn through our online platforms at home, our Maths department has created an online version of the extracurricular programme, enabling all our children to enjoy the programme at home if they wish.

Throughout the week, a range of fun and engaging cross-curricular activities will be launched, such as designing a new pound coin and creating a tuck shop sign with money value association. The children will also have the opportunity to take part in launching their own pop up lemonade stand. They will be guided through how to create a business plans and brand identity, P&L calculations and of course making and selling lemonade to people at home.

We hope you enjoy our ‘Online Financial Capability Week’ and please share photos and videos of your children’s work, enabling us to share with the wider Duncombe Community and within our Spirit of Duncombe Exhibition.

Enjoy, Team Duncombe
