Mr Phelan’s Weekly Round Up w/e 10th December
The final week of the Autumn term has been extremely busy with a host of most enjoyable events. I have been extremely proud of our pupils and staff for providing such a range of experiences, performances and glad tidings! The excellent Treetops performances of last week were followed on by both our Lower School and Upper School Carol Concerts. Such beautiful singing, readings and prayers to mark Christmas here at Duncombe! Well done to all for such an enjoyable time together and it was lovely to have our families supporting and enjoying these events too.
Thanks also to Mrs Ripp and Mrs Bateman for organising the PA Christmas Market on Sunday. The Market looked wonderful and I know a great deal of work went into making it a success.
The Anthony Glenn experience for Upper School with the Nutcracker, and Lower School with A Christmas Carol did not disappoint. The children were fully immersed in the world of Christmas themed stories that allowed their imaginations to run wild with tales of Dickensian Christmases and Sugar Plum Fairies!
Christmas dinner was enjoyed today with all the trimmings to round off a term of great endeavour and successes. The final few days have been made all the more challenging by the changing landscape of Covid. The reality is that these challenges will continue for a while longer and we shall have to monitor, adapt and communicate where changes may be needed.
But for now, let me wish you all a peaceful, happy and safe Christmas Holiday.
