“We’re so happy we made the move from a local day care nursery to Duncombe Treetops Nursery when our son reached 2 years. His progress and development both academically and socially, in such a short space of time has been fantastic. He confidently shares his day with us and the new skills he’s learning, including Spanish words, phonics and cookery skills. We cannot praise Duncombe Treetops enough.”

Nursery Curriculum

Outside learning and discovering nature are important and our Nursery children very much enjoy supervised visits to our sunken Forest School, where activities such as collecting twigs and leaves are incorporated in art work, Maths and science. After lunch the children enjoy story time, followed by free play in the classroom or the Treetops Gardens. French, Spanish, Music, Dance and PE lessons are provided by Duncombe’s specialist teachers.

Latest SIS Inspection Report

Our latest inspection highlights:
“The overall quality of care in the provision is outstanding. Highly skilled staff provide a caring ethos with an effective key person system which supports newcomers in forming attachments and settling quickly into the routines of the setting.”

Next Step After Nursery

Our Reception class remain at Duncombe Treetops to give them a little longer in familiar surroundings before they move to the Main School for Lower School in Year 1. It also gives them an early opportunity to be role models for the younger children and to take on positions of responsibility within the secure setting.
