Roll up, roll up get your freshly made paper here!

Our Year 1 children recently had the opportunity to make their own paper. This formed part of the children’s work on Materials.

They were all very excited. The paper had been soaking over night and resulted in a delightful mushy paper pulp, rather like rice pudding, one child said!!!

All the children used their deckles to make one plain piece of paper and then they were allowed to let their imaginations go riot and make a second piece of decorated paper.

They had glitter, wool, lavender seeds, rosemary, ivy leaves, cut up pieces of pretend money and shiny pieces of paper.

Once their paper was made, it then had to be left for 24 hours of patient watching until the big reveal. The children were very proud and amazed with their work.
