The following fees relate to the academic year from September 2026 to August 2027.

All Nursery Fees shown above are exempt from VAT.
We participate in the Government's 15 Hours Early Education scheme for eligible 3 and 4 year olds during term time in our Nursery and Kindergarten only. We do not offer 30 Hours funding or funding for 2 year olds. Our afternoon sessions are funded through the Government's Early Education Funding scheme, with funding rates set and administered by Hertfordshire County Council. The fees above are for September 2026 - August 2027. The tuition fees are inclusive of VAT. Lunch fees are exempt from VAT.
The annual fee is split into 3 termly instalments for your convenience. Fees are subject to an annual review, which usually takes place in April.

In order to make managing school costs simple for families, we have introduced the following from September 2026 for pupils in Reception to Year 6 which are included in the additional non-VAT items termly charge:

* Clubs led by an external provider and extended care from Monday to Thursday 5pm-6.30pm and Friday from 5pm-6pm are an additional charge
** residential trips are an additional charge

Treetops Pre-School FAQs

  • Exceptional outdoor play opportunities with access to our seven acres of listed parkland, secure play areas specifically for Early Years children and adventure playground.

  • Caring, experienced and qualified staff with high staff/child ratios.

  • A specially designed child friendly setting which creates a warm, safe and cosy home from home with an environment that encourages independence and initiative.

  • A strong partnership with parents ensuring that every child is nurtured and developed according to their individual needs.

  • Specialist teachers providing a broad curriculum, including French, Music and Spanish.

  • Homemade, healthy meals prepared on site.

  • An active part in whole school activities such as assemblies, sports day and productions.

We ask that:
  • 2 year olds in Kindergarten attend a minimum of three sessions, rising to four sessions in the term they are free.

  • Nursery children attend a minimum of six sessions rising to eight sessions in the Summer Term in preparation for Reception.

  • We are always happy to help where we can and offer adhoc bookings with just a few days’ notice. (Subject to staffing).

  • No, all our specialist lessons, for all children, are included within your fees.

  • From Year 3 children have the opportunity to learn from a range of instruments and experience 1 to 1 tuition with a member of our talented peripatetic staff. This additional learning is available alongside termly fees. Please speak with our Admissions Team for more details.

  • If your child is with us all day or a morning session, a hot lunch is included.

  • Healthy snacks are provided for all sessions

  • Wrap around care is available for all of our Treetops children. We have made our offering as flexible as possible, so you can build your wrap around needs to suit your family circumstances. Please email admissions@duncombe-school.co.uk for further information.

Treetops Holiday Club, organised and run by Duncombe staff, is open to children on roll from ages 2 to 5 years. The club operates from 8.00am up until 6pm for some periods during the Easter, Summer, Christmas and half term holidays. Our day is divided into four sessions, and you can book as many as you need:

  • Early Bird Club, 8am-9am

  • Morning activity session, 9am-12pm

  • Afternoon activity session, 1pm-4pm

  • Tea and care, 4pm-6pm

The activity schedule for Treetops Holiday Club is shared before the end of each school term allowing sufficient time for our parents to choose appropriate sessions and book via our secure parent app, Blenheim Connect

  • Yes, Treetops is participating in the Government’s 15 Free Hours Early Education Entitlement Scheme which is administered by Hertfordshire County Council

  • This scheme is offered in Kindergarten and Nursery only.

  • Eligibility starts in the term following that when your child becomes three, for example if your child’s third birthday falls within the Autumn term, the entitlement would start in the Spring Term.

  • Places in the scheme will be limited and only apply to sessions on Monday to Friday between 12.30pm to 3.30pm during term time (35 weeks).

Treetops Pre-School does not participate in the Government’s:
  • Free Early Education Scheme for 2-year-olds

  • 30 Free Hours Scheme

  • Or offer the scheme in Reception

  • Places in the scheme will be limited and only apply to sessions on Monday to Friday between 12.30pm to 3.30pm during term time (35 weeks).

Main School FAQs

  • We understand traditional school hours may not always work for families with busy schedules. That's why we offer wrap-around care for all children during term time, which runs alongside our full and varied After School Club co-curricular programme. 

  • Both can be booked termly in advance, and book via our secure parent app, Blenheim Connect.

  • For our latest Wrap Around fees for the current academic year, please email admissions@duncombe-school.co.uk, as these are subject to change each term.

  • Yes, we offer a wide range of personal tuition for children from Year 3 wishing to learn an instrument

  • Lesson are dependent on availability.

Financial FAQs

  • Your child will be given the opportunity to attend a wide range of trips and opportunities across their time at Duncombe, which will vary in price.

The scheme is implemented via a sliding scale approach and all our families are eligible for the scheme for all siblings in the school from Kindergarten.

Sibling discount for the Academic Year 2026-2027

  • Full published fees for first child

  • 10% discount for a second child

  • 15% discount for a third child

  • 20% discount for a fourth child

The sibling discount above is applicable to the termly fee only, and not the additional non-VAT items charges. No sibling discount is applicable to any incidental or wraparound charges.

  • Yes. payments are accepted as payment or part payment towards fees up until the end of the Nursery year, and for wrap around care costs for all ages between 2 and 11 years.

  • Our Finance Team will be able to advise you on everything you need to do to set this up.

  • Our Admissions Team will talk you through the details when you make your application.

  • When you complete your application forms, we ask for a registration fee of £120 (non-refundable). When you confirm your place, we ask for a deposit of £1000 (refundable in line with T&Cs).

  • Yes, we use a third party called School Fee plan who would be happy to help you arrange monthly payments.

  • A full term’s notice is required in writing to the Headmaster if you wish to withdraw your child or if you withdraw acceptance of the place for your child before entry. In circumstances where a full term’s notice has not been given, a term’s fees in lieu of notice will be payable in accordance with the school’s terms and conditions.
