Nursery

A supportive and friendly environment.

Nestled within Treetops, our purpose-built Early Years building, Nursery offers a warm and inviting atmosphere where children can flourish. Our extensive school facilities, including the Forest School, Music Studio, and Duncombe Arena, are easily accessible to provide enriching experiences.

Our Nursery setting provides an enhanced educational journey that prepares children for a successful school experience. We foster their unique talents and encourage the development of their character throughout their time with us. With small class sizes, we tailor our approach to their individual pace, ensuring their active engagement and enjoyment in every session. Our vision is straightforward - to empower every child to thrive and unleash their creativity in all their endeavours.

By the time our children progress to Reception, they have developed a genuine love for learning that continues to grow.

Curriculum

Building firm foundations

Nursery’s curriculum is fully enhanced by our specialist teachers and their unique teaching methods, combining creative play with engaging lessons and activities. The children enjoy weekly lessons in Forest School, Music, Science, and PE, and continue their journey of becoming global citizens with both French and Spanish lessons, all of which illuminate their curiosity and instil new passions.

We use recognised numeracy and literacy programs, embedding valuable consistency that stretches from pre-school into Main School. We have also enjoyed immense success in employing synthetic phonics techniques to advance reading levels well above the minimum required UK standards.

Our Subjects

Personalised learning

Our Nursery curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage, but we understand that every child is different.

Therefore, we personalise our teaching and learning approach to cater to their individual needs, leveraging their strengths, supporting in areas of challenge, and empowering them to reach their potential and attain success.

Facilities

Making the most of all the facilities available

Treetops, our purpose-built Early Years building, is a bright and stimulating learning environment, with distinct teaching areas for our younger children.

Across the day, the children venture outside to Treetops Garden. Built with little people in mind, the garden is an exciting adventure for their imaginations. The children regularly visit our magnificent Sound Garden, Forest School, and the library for weekly lessons with their Key Workers. Once the children move up to Kindergarten, they visit both the Duncombe Arena and our Music Studio for weekly specialist-taught lessons.
