Duncombe School cultivates a love for learning, laying a strong foundation for future success. Our school is divided into three stages: Early Years (ages 3-5), which includes Pre-school and Reception, Lower School (ages 5-8), and Upper School (ages 8-11).

  • Our Nursery children learn through both traditional methods and creative play, following an enriched EYFS curriculum that includes daily lessons in Numeracy, Literacy, and Phonics. Additionally, subjects such as French, Music, PE and Spanish are taught by our specialist teachers.

  • In Reception, children experience a more structured day that continues to be filled with enriched learning opportunities that bring the EYFS curriculum to life. Daily lessons in Numeracy, Literacy, and Phonics are taught by the class teacher, while specialist teachers lead lessons in French, Music, PE and Spanish

  • Children are gently integrated into Lower School life where we build on the firm foundations laid within our Early Years provision. They embark upon the KS1 National Curriculum with a strong emphasis on English, Maths and Science and subjects such as French, Music, PE and Spanish are delivered by specialist teachers.

  • Upper School is a new adventure for our children, as they experience learning through our senior school style timetable. Our inspiring and engaging subject-specific lessons are aligned with the curriculum, underpinned by opportunities for personal growth and leadership. This approach builds confidence and independence in preparation for life beyond Duncombe.
