Our children in Early Kindergarten and Kindergarten learn, laugh and play in a stimulating and motivating environment.
At this key time in the children’s learning we work with them to ensure they develop the tools they need to become ambitious and independent learners. With our small class sizes we are able to work at a staff to child ratio of 1:4. This enables us to work closely with the children and plan activities and learning around their interests and abilities, including an array of exciting activities such as cookery, music, ICT, drama and Forest School.
There is nothing more important to us than the happiness and wellbeing of our children; this takes priority above all else. We strive to create a warm and calm environment, where children are nurtured and respected.
Head of Early Years, Mrs Katie Copeman has oversight of pastoral care and works alongside our class teachers and room leaders on all pastoral matters.
Early Years and Kindergarten Curriculum
The children in Early Kindergarten and Kindergarten have a clearly structured day with a balance between child initiated learning and adult led activities. This enables the children to play and explore whilst also gaining early experience of more formal teaching.
The Kindergarten children also take part in weekly phonics, dance, cookery, music, ICT and forest school.
The Early Kindergarten and Kindergarten team consists of an experienced and highly qualified staff. Not only is the team extremely knowledgeable and skilled they also pride themselves on building strong relationships with the children, leaving parents secure in the knowledge their children are safe and happy.
