100% pass rate LAMDA results!
We are delighted to announce all ninety-seven candidates from Years 3 – 6 have passed their LAMDA Speech & Drama examinations. Pupils in Years 3 and 4 achieved healthy Merits and some exceptionally high Distinctions. Indeed, all 33 year 4 pupils gained Distinctions which is a record across any one year group. For two of our Speech and Drama pupils this was their first English speaking examination, with English as their second language. The year 5 and 6 examinations are of a more challenging nature and results, ranging from 63% – 86%, reflect a higher level of creative input and dedication required at this level.
Our LAMDA examiners thoroughly enjoyed the warm welcome they received at Duncombe School. They were impressed by the children’s confidence, enthusiasm and their impeccable manners.
Certificates for Years 3, 4 and 5 pupils will be handed out to the children at the beginning of the Autumn Term. Mrs. Webb will contact parents directly to arrange the collection of Year 6 certificates from the School office.
LAMDA examinations are nationally accredited and, if the children continue to progress through the grades into secondary school, they will earn valuable UCAS points for University entrance with their Bronze, Silver and Gold medals.
The results are a fine and well-deserved testament to the children’s hard work and commitment to Speech and Drama and to Mrs Coley, our Speech & Drama Teacher, B.A.Hons., Dip.Ed.
